Fence Repair in Colorado

A leaning post, a broken rail or a gate that no longer latches is usually a repair, not a new fence. The companies below say on their own websites or Maps listings that they repair fences.

Some cities set rules for upkeep. Aurora requires every fence, including pickets, rails and posts, to be kept in good structural condition. If a repair means setting new posts, the digging rules apply: Colorado law requires contacting Colorado 811 at least three business days before you dig, and 811 does not mark privately owned lines.

If a repair raises the fence, check your city's height limits first. In Denver, a fence over 4 feet needs a zoning permit. In Colorado Springs, a fence over 7 feet needs a building permit through the Pikes Peak Regional Building Department. Ask whether the company replaces only the damaged sections or the whole run, and what its warranty covers.
